Facing Giants is a trauma-responsive community space in Eugene designed to help children, caregivers, and the professionals who support them reconnect through play, education, and meaningful relationships. Unlike a traditional indoor playground, our environment was intentionally created to be calm, welcoming, and relationship-focused. We believe children thrive when they feel safe, connected, and understood—and that caregivers deserve spaces where they can slow down and be present alongside them. Our private Play Room is available by reservation for one caregiver and one child at a time, creating an opportunity for uninterrupted connection without the crowds, noise, or overstimulation often found in larger play centers. The room features thoughtfully selected toys that encourage imagination, creativity, problem-solving, and shared play. We also offer a Private Sensory Room designed for children who benefit from a quieter, lower-stimulation environment. Families often use the space to decompress, regulate emotions, practice sensory exploration, or simply enjoy peaceful time together. Beyond our rooms, Facing Giants serves as a community hub where families can access educational workshops, parent-child groups, and child development resources that focus on emotional literacy, body safety, healthy relationships, resilience, and practical life skills. We also partner with local professionals who offer family-centered programming in our space, creating opportunities for families to learn, grow, and build supportive community connections. Our growing Calm & Capable Kids™ collection provides practical visual supports and educational tools that help children develop emotional awareness, body autonomy, routines, respect, communication skills, and confidence both at home and across life's transitions. Facing Giants was created from the belief that prevention matters. Families shouldn't have to wait until they're in crisis to find support, connection, or tools that strengthen relationships. Whether you're looking for a peaceful place to play, a sensory-friendly environment, educational resources, or community programming, we're here to walk alongside families with compassion, dignity, and hope. We welcome children of all abilities and backgrounds and strive to create an inclusive environment where every family feels seen, respected, and valued. Breaking Barriers. Restoring Resilience.
